As a web developer/designer/architect/whatever you owe it to yourself to read these books. Each one is full of great examples and arguments for modern web design. Media queries for responsive design, CSS3, HTML5, how to handle older (ugh) browsers, how to handle newer browsers that just suck, etc. It is nice to be able to see all of the things we have picked up over the years applied as a cohesive whole, all of our skills used for the betterment of our web experience.
They are quick reads, but I think you will find yourself returning to them often.
